WTB driver door hinges

anyone out there have a good upper and lower driver door hinges? thanx

you don't want driver's door hinges, cuz they're all bad. you want good passenger door hinges...flip them upside down, you have good driver's door hinges. thank CruiserBrett for that one.

Best thing to do is take the hinges off and take them to a machine shop and have them rebuild them. I did all four doors in mine and it only cost about $50.

They even put brass bushing in them.

What machine shop? I'd send mine to them and pay the UPS round trip for $50/all four.

landcruiserman I had mine at the body shop at Boise State (College of Western Idaho) and they sent them to the machine shop at the college. I did check around town and they will rebuild them at a couple places in Boise for about $15 each.

landcruiserman So how hard is it to find someone to make you a soft top? I've been considering making my hardtop removable similar to a camper shell, that would also eliminate my tailgate issues.

I found a custom upolstry shop in my area that took it on and built me a top on the truck to fit. Came out really good. I've had 4 made in the last 20 years. The plastic windows fade and need to be replaced about every 2 years or so, but it's worth it to me. A hard top would be a tough project. I'd like to see one.

I really like the idea, of having the top off but, I don't want a 40 or a jeep there isn't enough room. Mine is almost ready to go on the trail.
