Hi!

I found a great 78 BJ40 last fall and it carried me through the winter wonderfully! But it appears the Cruiser bug has migrated through my family and after much begging and pleading... I just sold it to my brother for his first car . But he's a good kid and is in love with it so it was worth it.

Now I sit here Cruiser-less and come in search of something a little different and tougher to find...

I am looking for a 1983 or 1984 BJ42.

My only 2 conditions would be:
1. Left hand drive (LHD) Canadian/US spec
2. Unrestored
3. And hidden #3, a 1983 or 1984 model

School's finished for me so I have more time, money, tools, experience and, well... time, money, tools and experience ;p

I want to do the restoration myself so a nut and bolt resto is out. Rust and/or not running is no issue at all, and preferred. (Well, not per say, but if I start with a heap I can do it my way from the start)

I've done the USA-Canada import thing and have a wicked shipping service so I'm pretty much looking anywhere in North America.

I personally don't think any needing restoration are worth more than 10K so I'll set that as an arbitrary dollar cap.

I'm actively searching also, and patience is a virtue, but if you guys see anything I would very much appreciate a heads up

Thanks a lot!

(I know, I know, this is a Toyota forum, but Mopars were my first passion ;))

Bigndn - thanks for the tip, but a little nicer than I am hoping for. There's a couple nice 81/81 BJ42's in BC here, fully restored/restomodded for 12K to 16K, but I'm pretty eager to get into a project.

Fact is I get pretty bored if I'm not elbow deep into something way over my head :bang:

Icefire - thanks also, but I'm not too interested in converting a FJ. If the BJ I come up with doesn't have a 5sp I'd definitely get into the tranny swap, but with the cost of shipping etc. it would be easier and cheaper to locate one locally. However at that price I'm sure someone will snag it ASAP. If you were within an hour of here it would already be in my back yard :D
