Hi Folks, I thought I would ask locally (within 500 miles:grinpimp:) first.
I need a long side rear axel shaft for a 60 series, must be pristine, no grooves or pits ( have that already:frown:).
Regards,
Dave

That was fast. We probably would of had one for you, but all our 60 series parts trucks are still in Whonnock, and I think my brother is going down for easter, and I won't be down till April 10, so glad you found one.
Cheers,
Deny

Hey I think everybody should have a rusty BJ60 or two for parts.:D

That was the machining shop mistake, they fixed both front and rear driveshafts at no cost to me.

Why do you have pitted axle shafts? too many water crossings?

Are you ready for Moab yet?

The rolling chassis spent several years in the elements while i went through some domestic upheavals. Condensation killed that bearing but the shaft had only slight staining on the bearing surface. So I polished the surface and changed the bearing, it lasted for several years of hard wheeling so I'm not too bummed out about it. Actually, I'm glad I found it before it became a real problem, like in the middle of Nowhereville USA.

No not ready for Moab yet, will finish the front axel tomorrow, had to change the short side shaft, birf and spindle, the spindle bushing had worn out and the wobble made some good grooves in the seal surface of the axel. The Birf was stiff and tended to bind up when I cleaned it, prob on it's way out and was taking the bushing with it.

Little by little the list gets shorter:cool:

Hey Dave,

If you a looking for a good parts truck (I guess if you have some acrage, and your wife allows it:D), Dan from Kamloops is selling an 81BJ60 for 1500 in the Coastal Cruiser side. Course you would probably want an 83 or newer parts truck eh.

Yeh, I was looking at that, I sent the link to a buddy in town here, he's looking for a cheap 60.
Another guy in town is ripping the 3B and trany out of an 83 or 84, when he's done that I get the remains:cool:
Just wish he'd hurry up:D
