Would these fit on my 83 mini? I saw them on craigslist. Each set is $600.

Toyota Tacoma wheels/tires off of a 2007. The tires are 265/75/16 BFGoodridge Rugged Trail T/A's.

The rears do without any problems.

To run the fronts, you need to put on some wheel spacers to clear your old style calipers. I used Tacoma rims on my old 81 and they looked great.

The later IFS wheels have more backspace, the mounting surface is dished in more on the backside. This causes a couple of issues; They will hit the tie rod ends on the straight axle front and they will narrow the track. Both issues are solved with 1”+ (depending on the wheels) wheel spacers.

Unless your in a panic for them, shop the list more. I got a set of 17” Tundra alloys with 1/2 tread tires for $175. A buddy got a set of 16” like on iortechnology’s rig for $300. with like new A/T tires. Those Tacoma rims are my favorite style for early rigs! Both sets had lugs, caps and in very nice condition.

My '90 Runner with Tacoma rims and the '84 with the Tundra's. The 17" rims are large enough to clear the tie rod end on the early axle, but still need spacers. Sorry about the mess, I bought it that way and hadn't cleaned it up before shooting that pic! :o

So with 17" rims , would I still need one inch spacers for the front ? And, on the 16" Taco rims I only need front spacers, right? Just making sure.

Those 17" wheels fit mine without spacers, so none are "needed" for them to fit on the truck. With more backspace the tires are in the wheel wells further, reducing the track width, so you may want spacers.

I dont know guys..... all those pics look blingy to me..... :D

I agree on the Tundras, they are spares for my 80, but have the best tires of the sets that I have right now, so the Mini rides on them. Have a line on some little stock size MTR's that I will probably put on the stock rims for it.

I bought it sight unseen, was told it's a beater and was looking for something to make a F-Toy with. IMHO it's way too clean, rust free to cut up, so I'm slowly cleaning it up, bringing the PM up to date and will use it as a spare truck/DD.

I think those 17's are 17x7.5 A little narrow if you plan to go a lot wider later.

They work well with my 37x12.5's!:D

i tried my dad's FJ wheels on my 84 and they look and fit great. the only thing is, is that unless you've got lift and wheel spacers you have to use 265/75/75 or some wierd size because they rub when you turn and at stock height with fully compressed springs/shocks you'd probably be rubbing the fender or frame. rears are fine just like everyone else said.

Cool, thanks guys! I'm still looking for a set of OEM Toyota rims. So if anyone in AZ knows of any, let me know. Thanks.
