Work boot suggestions

Looking at Wolverine, Red Wing and Georgia Boot. I need a good boot to work in 10 to 12 hours a day without screwing up my knees and lower back.

Anyone have experiences with an of the above?

Red Wings come in widths which is important to me.A width.I've had about 4 pair in my life time when I was still wrenching on stuff.All were great boots.No experience with others

I wear Ariats, and love em. I stand all day slouched of cars. They seem to last about a year. They say the souls will out-last the boot.

What type of work do you do?

Whites make an excellent logging type boot. I wear them when I'm in the timber.

A for my everyday boots I wear the LaCrosse 11" wellington. They are on a little over 2 years now with almost everyday use. I was averaging 1 pair of redwings a year.

light construction / remodeling and a lot of painting. i've had Danner's before and they screwed up my heels

Mike go with the Georgia boots.....I bought a pair last year & walk in automotive plants on concrete everyday-THEY ARE GREAT!

I always liked Red Wing when I worked construction. One nice thing is they sell half sizes above 10, that use to be very unusual but it's more common to find 11-1/2 and 12-1/2 these days. Back then they would also split sizes. So you could get say a 11-1/2 right and a 12 left.

red wings, or danners, with a wedge sole. wore boots with a heel for 20 years and it hammers the hell out of your lower back, went to red wings, model 807 or 877 i think, made in minnesota. (i have a pair of irish setters also red wing, found out there made in china...that won't happen again!) soles are good for about a year, then take them in to your boot repair shop and have em glue on a vibram lug sole, you'll be good for a long while. good quality insole also helps. my work boots right now are danner desert arcadia's, a bit on the heavy side but extremely comfortable IMO.

I wear a pair of Red Wing boots. I got the gortex lined version. best boots I have ever worn. Easy on the legs and feet. Before I used to get heel spurs and all kinds of nasty foot pain.

Also I use orthodics inside my boot and the red wings easily fit them for width.

I will buy another pair.

I'm constantly on my feet for 12-hr shifts where safety toes are required. I switched from Red Wings to Wolverine Dura-Shocks seven years ago; then, I switched to Timberland Pros last year. On my second set and most comfortable steel-toe I've ever worn. Check them and the reviews out in the link.

I wear Redwing steel toes on 12 hour shifts. Had Wolverine Durashocks before. Redwings fit better and are more comfortable for me.

red wing irish setters are great. However, I have been buying la crosse Quad Comforts for about 3 years now, and they rock . They cost 100, red wings about 160. Both models with the 8" high versions. And i am on my feet ALL day

I used these for 4 years!! as a wildland firefighter never a problem with hikeing up hills with hose packs. absolutely BULLETPROOF. they have a heel in the back to do somthing to your foot to make it less tired. I did a 36 hour shift without takeing them off. slip it on and forget that you have anything on your feet.

If you have knee and heel issues, you may want to consider a pair a Z-Coils. I have a few co-workers who switched over to these and they love'em. I will allways wear whites.

The only boots that fit my feet (long and skinny) I know others (cowboys) who chucked them high heal boots and only wear vasque, even on horseback.

The old Vasque boots made in Italy many years ago rocked. Now, Vasque boots are made in China and they suck.
I have/had the old Italian and the new Chinese Sundowners. The old are still rockin' with 2 resoles but my China boots were pieces of s***. Crap leather and the inner linings tore out.
Chucked those and got come Raichle Mt. Trails. Raichle keeps it real with authentic Swiss cobblery.
