I have a 73 FJ40 stock motor with Trollhouse carb. Sat for a year. Gets gas to the carb. Bowl doest fill. any suggestions? I can poor gas down the carb and it will fire up.

sometimes a light tap on side of the carb will free up a stuck float needle.
If not it's going to need a cleanout.

Welcome to alcohol in our gasoline, pull the carb bet there is nasty brown stuff in the float bowl.. you can try carb cleaner down the vent tube and in all the vents, may work if its not too bad, dont forget the tank and fuel filter, filter may get gummed after running 20-30 min...

Are you sure gas is getting to the carb? Have you taken the gas line off the carb and made sure it comes out? If not, it could be a clogged gas line. I thought gas was getting to my carb because I could smell it. It took i off finally and nothing came out. It turned out to be a clogged fuel line right after the tank.

If you've got gas going to the carb but it's not filling, the needle is stuck in the seat. As stated a light tap near where it is can sometimes knock it loose.

I've also had luck with carb cleaner in the fuel bowl &/or 'Sea Foam'.
