If i was a good boy i could throw a good 300 a month at it during the summer. That is why i am temted to let it sit for a 350 swap.

A 350 swap b/c you have a cracked intake manifold? Don't do that.

If you want to drop a load of cash on a 350 swap for more HP that's fine.

If you want to drop a load of cash on a 2F rebuild to stay stock but have a newer motor that's fine.

But, don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I suggest you get the Dent back to your house and let it sit (I'm assuming it isn't your DD). Chill for a couple weeks then jump back in. I've been in your shoes too and threatened to sell my 55 but the :princess: set me straight.

Work on one thing at a time on your Cruiser. Cracked intake manifold? Let's get that fixed. Either get the crack welded or replace with a used uncracked intake manifold. I have one I'll let go for $50 if you want it. Bolt the intake manifold up to your exhaust manifold and make sure they mate well, and have a flat mounting surface to your block. Get that planed at a machine shop if it doesn't mate well. Then get a Remflex gasket (irongiant on MUD sells them) and remount and don't over torque.

Check all your vacuum lines for leaks.

Get the Dent started and run a compression test. Heck, you could run a compression test before you even mess with the intake manifold. Once you run a compression test post up your #'s. If the #'s aren't good then adjust your valves and run compression again. I bet you will get #'s over 135 across the board which = good compression for a 2F.

hey let me count up how many intakes i got and i might just give you one.

yeah gimme. Save me some $$!! By the way what is the condition of the body of your parts rig?? I saw a cab not too long ago and realized how much cheaper a body swap would be if i could find one close enough and not eat up with rust. Plus you do have a 40 to play with now!!!:hillbilly:
