I am willling to bet you are the only person in the world who has installed a $850 European wok burner to cook from their truck. I love it! We Mud bunch are some eccentric folks.

cept i didnt pay $850 for it

I hear ya though although after using it i have to say this sucker is one efficient stove uses a 1/2 psi rather then a normal propane grill that uses something like 10-25 psi

Plow Disk

I have a buddy at work who made one out of a disk, from a plow. Hes married to a Mexican gal, so when they all get together it gets a pretty good workout making carnitas and whatnot. Was cheap too. Al

Open fires are often not an option in the Northern Sierra. We go in and out of drought conditions prett frequently.

haha i live in arizona, i know drought. many moons ago i bought a cheapy single burner, the kind that you screw on top of a coleman propane cylinder. anyway i got curious one day and it actually works very well for the wok.

on another note, i happen to bee a WWII buff and have alot of stuff, in that stuff was an artical on making an emergency stove with a soup can and gasoline, it works better than you might think and i cooked on it with the wok once in the backyard. not a real fast or hot heat for it, but it did work.

We keep one of those cheap stoves in our picnic box along with a small pot. Lots of times we will boil up some brats for lunch when we are out tooling around in the hills. Particularly in the winter.
