Greetings all. So today is the day. Making good progress. Question though. What is this? The little bracket is giving us problem. Looks like electric plugs into it. Dr side. We cannot remove the upper control arm until we disconnect it and that is proving difficult. What is this thing?

AHC sensor. You dont need it. Cut away

Well, the arms are done but alas went fir the panhard rod bushings as well. Had to cut out the old. And the ones I bought don’t fit! I’ll include the link below. All the auto parts stores seem to have them as a special order item.

think the dealership would have one?
This is the non fitter I ordered:)

Siberian Bushing Polyurethane Front Suspension Panhard Rod Compatible with Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon product ASIN B00UHBYHHY

I’m supposing from what I’m seeing I will need to order this?

Or this one?

Mackeath, any resolution to this issue? I seem to be having the same/similar problem with my '05 LX 470. Its like a death wobble in the highway or interstate. I currently have it at a local shop that specializes in Asian machines.

Recently purchased 07’ TLC 100 series. According to inspection and carfax, the shocks, struts and tires replaced 5k ago. I had the (4)AHC globes &fluid replaced along with new Rack/pinion, outer tie rods, and the interediate driveshaft by the seller. The truck is solid. Absolutely love this truck!!! Driving back from TX to CT now. I’m trying to understand the shake in the steering wheel above 65mph….Should I take it to a tire shop first or just have the dealer look at it to diagnose the problem and wrench it myself? Trying to streamline the diagnosis without having to fix unnecessary items. Would love to spend monies on some other things…. Any recommendations, thoughts, knowledge on this are so appreciated.

Start simple and then go from there......Tires were just done so maybe one didn't balance right, see if you can get a tire shop to rebalance.....Did you check tire pressure, what pressure are you running?

If it doesn't get better then you have to dive deeper into things like worn out tie rods, ball joints, bushings, and all the other steering and suspension components by getting the vehicle on a lift and checking it all out.... If lucky you can find a tire shop that will also check out front end for anything worn out....

You say shocks and struts were just replaced ...We have shocks on all four corners, with torsion bars up front and coils in the rear.

Apologies for the struts being replaced. I think I verbally said that and it automatically typed it in. I have to say it is kind of gone away. The roads in Mississippi Alabama was where the vibration was when I got up north to asphalt truck ride doesn’t shake anymore at steering wheel.

However, I have a new problem now I have fluid leaking out of my truck made the trip 1800 miles no problems. I need to diagnose the issue. It was so dark last night. I couldn’t tell if it was power steering or if it was oil.

For the sale agreement I was supposed to have the rack and pinion outer tie, rods, intermediate driveshaft, and four globes replaced. I’m wondering if the mechanic was in over his head and ****ed something up….

Let the games begin….
