So i went to the scrap yard and got myself the plugs for the glove box light and switch as well as the accessory harness which includes the accessory power and light and ashtray light.

I go to add these things to my truck only to find out theres no where to plug in the glove box light and switch. And that the accessory plug is only two prong (power and ground) where as the plug i salvaged is four prong for acessory power and ground. And power for the lights and ground...

Anybody know how can i wiring in my salvaged goods? Can i use the accessory power for the accessory lights as well as the glove box light and switch? Has anybody done this?

Is there any way you can post a picture of the glove box switch? I am adding the light to my glove box and ashtray from a 4Runner, but I neglected to get the switch. I'm not even sure where it goes.

My truck also didn't have any wiring under the dash for the glove box light, so I had to add it to the main harness while I had it out. Green is the color of wire that comes off the TAIL fuse, this is what you want to tie into for the +12V, then the switch takes care of the ground side.

The plug for the ashtray/cig lighter has 4 pins because there are 4 wires used:

1: +12V for the cig lighter (switched, from the 15A CIG fuse), wire is red w/green stripe
2: Ground for cig lighter, white with black stripe (universally used throughout the truck)
3: +12V for ashtray & cig lighter illum (switched, from 15A TAIL fuse), green wire
4: Dimmed ground for illumination, goes through dimmer knob on dash, red wire

Wire colors are the harness wires, not necessarily the color of the wires in your plug pigtail.

The glovebox switch mounts on right side. i have an extra one that i grabbed this morning if you want it. i'm in edmonton.

I have everything wired up now in my 93 ext cab using all original harnesses. i tied into the radio illumination wire for my accessory, ashtray, and glove box lights. accessory plug just uses the 12v accessory wire as before
