 Tried to get my windshield wipers to work today to no avail. I was working on them for about two hours. The truck has been sitting for about 5 months now, although I have ran it to keep things fresh. Wipers had worked last december. Anyway, I took the switch out, took it apart, cleaned up the connections and put it back together, so I don't think it's the switch. Is the switch and motor internally grounded (grounded through the bolts or dash connection is what I mean)?
I unbolted the motor and wanted to inspect that too, but it's troublesome to take the whole thing out. Does anyone know how I can hotwire the motor to kinda bench test the thing? I was gonna bolt it back up and then run wires from the battery to the motor but I don't know which ones to run to.
When I pull the switch I get no sounds from the motor, so I thought maybe it was a wiring issue, but I want to make sure my motor isn't frozen or something like that since it hasn't been turned on in a while.
The only things I've done to the wipers was pull the wiper arms and I did rotate the connections to the wipers arms, which I don't think would cause the motor to fail. Thanks for your all help in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm not the best with electrical stuff.
Oh ya, the fuse was fine too.

if it's run like the 40 series, you have 1 hot wire and the rest are grounds. the switch runs the ground, depending on the switch it runs the low speed ground, or the high speed ground. then internally in the motor, it has the park feature ground.

friday eve, I can check wire colors.

Oh I see, so when you pull the switch you are actually grounding the wires. My switch had two little springs in the little plastic box. Do you know if I can wire my battery up with like alligator clips and then run it to the wiper motor to test if it's frozen or not. Thanks for the reply!

Figured I should finish this thread. I never did figure out how to hot wire the damn thing. I did, however, get it to work eventually. I tore the motor apart and soldered one of the brushes as they were nearly broken. Then, I put it all back together and hooked it up but still nothing. Then it got really, really hot. So, I took it out and let it cool down. I took it all apart again and laid the brushes down flat. Put it back together, then installed and tested with the switch. Success and it worked again, although it was rather noisy. So, I hooked the linkage back up and tried it with the wipers. It worked for a couple turns and then stopped again. I'm gonna take it out tomorrow and figure out why it's stuck. There is a screw in the housing which tightens into the gear part thingy. I think I need to screw it in more so that it stops that gear part thingy from moving up and down.
