Can I just say something here? Phil, you know what.....

You're right, FB is so 2008:flipoff2:
I'm still going to put it up though, so anyone who's interested in joining, do so. Scott, this'll require registering. Just a bit more exposure, especially on Mud's own FB page.

Can someone post the old WCLC logo? Used to be here...

old old, or new old?

this is the original logo. i used to have a drawing of it, but it's been gone for 15 years or so. the logo was "squared up" sometime in the early 90s

Yes, FB group page is up. Just type in Windy City Land Cruisers in the search.
Hulk posted the WCLC logo (color), a while back but is not longer visible. Would love to display that as the default for this group page.

Glad to see this chapter potentially startin up again...

Getting a facebook page is "starting up again"

WTF do you think this forum is? It's more than WCLC has been in 15 years, even well before it died. We have everything a "real" chapter has except dues and politics.

I couldn't comment on the previous incarnation of WCLC. The Blew Roomers that wanted to do a club really wanted nothing to do with TLCA, nor other Toyotas besides the FJC. All they wanted was a sticker to put on their rides.

How things are currently is what a club is to me. I make a motion to make Anthony the HMFIC of WCLC. He lost all respect at Jambo and deserves the title. :flipoff2:

By no means did I intend to "start up" WCLC or replace 'Mud, I just wanted to represent on FB just like other groups/clubs. Also, it's easier for me to view FB on my blackberry than it is to scroll/zoom on bulletin boards. :D
With that in mind, I hope more and more people will see the group page as a supplement to Mud and NOT a replacement.

and I didn't take it as so.

There are those who think that WCLC can't exist without having proper meetings on a schedule with a board and Roberts Rules and all that nonsense.

I disagree.

We can't exist as a TLCA charter without those things, but I could give a rat's ass about that.

I disagree...you can be a chapter without dues and politics. Tall Corn Cruisers, albeit we have dues of $10 (so we can do stuff, like join the IA4WDC and MW4WDA, and get members shirts), we have no politics. It's amazing when you get a good group of folks together with the same passion about their trucks how people come together and get along.

Whether WCLC becomes a TLCA Chapter again is completely up to you all. I'm just happy to see something, albeit informal, starting. Sorry if my previous comments were interpreted as something else.

I dont care if there is a club. I understand peoples want for a club. I dont play well with others (some say im a dick) so you wont likely see me at any meeting or with a club membership.

But I say knock yourself out.

You guys can take over the CTJ. :D

it originally didn't have most of that except in the bylaws, which i still have somewhere. we did have meetings, at different restaurants over beers.

I know I'm gonna regret saying this but...

I took a brief look at the TLCA site (a very brief look, like five minutes) and noticed that there were only a few requirements to make our chapter a “recognized” chapter. I do like our set up, but it would be neat to be recognized (not sure if recognized is the correct word I am looking for). Please correct me if I read the TLCA site wrong but we only need to submit a set of by-laws and a roster sheet. Seems simple enough to me other than the roster has to consist of TLCA members. If Ige can dig up those by-laws then we would be in good shape. Our convenient set up of the relaxed club environment would stay the same.
