Well,
All is going swimmingly in Ireland with the Land Cruiser except a few ridiculously vindictive looking door dings and now a windscreen sacrificed to the god of summer road works. I’m having a hard time finding a shop here willing to take on an import, and also having a hard time finding a windscreen. Partsouq, my go-to, has no stock. Assuming I can get the glass and other parts, is this a DIY job? Any tips on tools, or a link to the FSM guide to replacing the windscreen? Thanks!

Bummer about the door dings and windshield! If shipping wouldn’t eat you alive, I’d say order all
The stuff for windshield replacement and a set of Budbuilt sliders!

“an import” is a bit of a stretch imo as it’s the same 5.7L 200 series sold worldwide. Keep up your search. Eventually, you’ll find a shop willing to fix a left hand drive 200. Good luck!

I'll do a lot of work on my cruiser but a windscreen is not on that list, between the special tools required to remove the old one, install the new, and the potential consequences if it doesn't go to plan.

On top of possible leaks, if you damage the paintwork while removing the old panel you now have a nice little spot to hide corrosion as it progresses.

Maybe try contacting a toyota dealer? They'd at least be familiar with the concept of it being the same base vehicle all over the world..

Have you thought about hopping on a ferry to England to get your windscreen fixed? Larger dealer network means you’re more likely to find someone willing to work on your truck. If I was you I'd also looking for 4x4 indy shops for parts.

Oh, and in a pinch, there’s an LC200 available for parts on eBay UK, although I’m not sure about its compatibility with a USDM spec.

I’ve ordered all the trim parts from Partsouq and the windscreen from a Toyota dealer. 855 euro, pretty spicy. Toyota in Ireland won’t change windscreens themselves, and the likes of Autoglass (similar to Safelite) won’t touch an import. The 200 series was never sold in Ireland in any form and mine is not registered here so it’s hard to get any support from large companies. I did find a local guy who seems like he’s competent so hopefully won’t run into any of the nightmares I’ve heard about once the parts arrive…
