If you start deleting things the engine wont run correctly and might not pass inspection.

The diesel toys conversion is passable and it all communicates perfectly.

Keep in mind, the 1KD is used in the Prado (150) that the FJC, T4R, GXs share similar systems on.

Not plug and play, but damn close of one had the harness that Diesel Toys created.

Toss on a long travel kit and it'd be a sweet all around wheeler.

Not worth it, as it affords a nominal gain in any but high speed environments.

Best money spent on an FJC for wheeling is tires, lift, crawl box. Much beyond that and it might as well be SACd.

Guess I'm late....

That can be had for much less than $65k

The guy I spoke to said that was all inclusive, truck, motor, trans, and all the custom work.. not just the motor conversion..Still seems high, but if you have that kind of coin to throw around...

The ^^ link is awesome, thanks for that.

I mean that exact FJC can be had for less than $65k.

The owner was stationed in the ME when he cyber-built his dream FJC and committed to the conversion.

Not long after completion, met a woman, got married, moved from OK to MN and is settling into domestication.

Tried selling on eBay and forums to no avail, so is DDing at the moment, but betting the house bug is gnawing at him, so it could be bought for reasonable money.

The conversion was around a $20k affair, so not sure where the other $45k is coming from, since they're only around $36k new.

A pic of this morning.

How about putting the FJ60 on a 100-series? That would be pretty sweet. Myself I would SaS the 100 too but that is just me. 100s seem to be coming up these days for reasonable money. A damaged one will obviously be less.

Cheers

The 105 are solid axles, but they dont have them in the US. Drove one for a while, bullet proof.

Ya, which is why I would have to SaS it.

Well, once I get Goss finished.. I plan on something "one-off" for the spare 60 body. Maybe a 60 super cab or 4 door truck with some "series" frame and powertrain??

J

Have you seen the 60 Don did out in California? He made the 60 into an extra cab pickup and then built a super sweet overland platform in the back. It is an awesome truck. And I hear ya on doing something with the 60 body, I got a 62 sitting here for the same thing. The body is to nice not to do something with it and I love 60s. Plus I got a 80 rolling chassis in trade for some tires. So I have got to do something with this stuff!

Cheers

Do you have a link to Don's thread for the 60 truck? I found one from a guy in NZ.. But he never finished the build thread... That sounds like a project I could get some ideas from..
