Took a little drive down to Griffin Thermal Products today and picked up my FJ80 direct fit radiator. This one is set up with both hoses on the PS for a 5.3L Vortec along with the correct sizing. It also has a steam port. Some changes may be required for the AT cooler lines. This radiator will be available from Griffin in both stock and LS series configuration.

Nothing to update at the moment. Gathering parts for the swap. I won't be tearing it down for the swap until all parts required are in house.

So I was getting tired of looking at the 80 and seeing this, DULL neglected paint and some newer paint with orange peel. The photos do not do it justice, Huge difference in the overall look of the truck

Several sheets of 2000 grit paper and 11 hours of wet sanding and buffing out with Diamond cutter and it is a different truck, about half way done with one coat of wax

Sanded out

Truck Yeah! Looks great!

Slow going on the 80 for a bit. Heather got Dexter a new Radio. Jensen VX7020 with NAV and a bunch of other features on Amazon day this past week. I got it installed and we have begun the process of programming it to our needs. If you have been considering a head unit upgrade, DO IT!!!

We already had 6 kicker speakers in the truck so it would be interesting to hear the difference. Night and day! Main feature I requested when Heather was looking was a volume knob, it also serves s an on/off and mute. The sound is great, thinking can only get better with sound insulation application.

The features of this system are great. We can both access our phones, hands free to make and receive calls. The phones can also be used for Pandora etc and you can even run You Tube etc through it. We have yet to mess with the NAV but I believe we can also run the NAV on the phone through blue tooth as well, so we have back up. You can also play any music you have stored on your phone.
