Sure, but from my understanding the A3xxx and A4xxx trannies both bolt up to the same t-case (just with or without the VC).
Since they both can bolt up to the same t-case, what is the difference that prevents you from swapping the same parts to bolt them up to the split case?
The A440F, A442F, A443F (Not Toyota) are all transmissions in the Aisin Seiki AW450 series. They share a tremendous amount of parts, and their internal workings are nearly identical.
The A343F is a completely different transmission, although also made by Aisin Seiki.
While you are correct in that the transfer case bolt pattern and the output shaft have the same interface between the two transmissions, you need to think about the other end of the output shaft. The part that is inside the transmission. It is completely different between the two.
Look at the the attached images for the differences between the A343F, A442F, and A440F output shafts.
As you can see, the A343F is totally different than the A442F and A440F. The A440F and A442F, however, both have the same gear flange pattern at the end that interfaces with the transmission gearset.
