Why was the ARB thread closed?

Mark's thread was about shipping parts from WA; in particular ARB parts. I'm glad that the forum helped him answer his questions and that he was able to get the ARB parts he needed from RADD Cruisers.
That thread went a far ways off topic... Then people got rude and it looked like it was heading down hill fast... I started off writing a PM asking guys to "play nice" but couldn't get the words right and ran out of patience so used a heavier hand than is normally my style. I did PM both parties telling them what I was about to do and why - they've both replied accepting my decision.
I'm open to suggestions on how to moderate this forum; since I'm only here until woody replaces me.

Good enough . Just kinda wondering what went down ? I know all the parties involved . Didn't think they would be the type to need censorship. It feels sometime like walking on eggshells around here . I'll stick to the flag for all my inside voice comments.
