I'm shocked this hasn't been posted in the 200 section already (apologies if it has). Are we really driving the last of the US market Land Cruisers with our 200's? The current LC is such a sleeper of a vehicle, but's that's probably the main issue. Not enough panache for the dollars.

My 1977 FJ55 had a MSRP of ~ $7,500. By the winter of '79, MSRP was ~ $14K.

Our 2 year old low mileage 1988 FJ62 (~ 8K made) was scored for $13,500. Fuel injection, auto transmission. Four Wheeler Magazine reviewed it for 4WD of the Year. They stated the Land Cruiser was the 4WD you'd expect to find President Reagan driving around on the ranch.

Longevity => now there's a reason Toyota doesn't sell more LCs. We owned the FJ62 until 2008, when rust began appearing in earnest.

We bought an older, high-mileage LX450 w/out head gasket replacement & w/ oil pan leak. With an estimated $7K in repairs/maintenance; we went for a new 2009 Xterra Off Road (elec. rear locking diff) for $26K.

The trade-in value of the Xterra ~ = sales tax on our 2019 LC!

The video failed to mention ih8mud !!!! This was a major reason I chose a LC as likely the last vehicle of my lifetime. Got a problem with your new Armada? Good luck finding any place on the WWW with an answer to your problem. let alone real-time trouble-shooting & comisery.
