Who’s running K03s?

I’ve got 17K miles on my K03s on my Tacoma (265/70R18). I was planning on just going to K03s from the K02’s that are on my LC (285/17R17). A buddy of mine just recently got a set of K03 35s but the tire shop really struggled to balance them and used a lot of weight. They told him just to get a different set (brand) of tires and they would exchange with full refund. I’ve seen a couple things on the Internet that are negative regarding the KO3s and balancing, at least in larger sizes. Wondering if anybody’s experienced this here.

I really like the K03s on my Tacoma and have no issues.

I had issues with balancing 275-70r18 E load KO3, switched to Toyo AT3 for that vehicle. No issues with balancing 265-70r17 C load or 37x12.5r17 C load KO3 (on my LX). In my experience the higher load range tires are harder to balance. Besides the balance issue, I like them on and off-road.

My Tacoma K03s are E load. Probably could have backed off for that rig. It’s daily street service for now.

Heavy as hell (285/65R18E). Mine balanced very well, especially compared with the KO2. None of my KO3s have more than 1.75oz total weight each, so that’s a win.

Edit: checking my maintenance log, I was wrong—I had one tire that took 2.25 oz.

There’s a local Toyota influencer who got K03’s installed on her 4g taco. She didn’t think this was a problem until the YouTube comments started coming in.
