Glad you guys are taking alternative forms of transportation in stride.
I have been ridding my bike for years but because the company pays for my fuel in the companies service van. For me its a privilege and not a right. Most consider me lucky but it can be easily taken away from me.
For this reason I ride my bike when ever I can. It is a older K2 full suspension bike.
If the weather here in Canada was not so foul during the winter more people would ride to work.
Getting in a accident is something I worry allot about. I stay off the main arterials and only pick quiet streets as our city did not have the forethought of sticking in dedicated bike paths away from busy roads. I have even thought of putting on a air blast horn.
I also ride during the weekend if I am bored at home. Good for the body and mind and a GREAT stress reliever
