I did?

Did Anyone else ride their bike to work for bike to work day?

I'm finally going to ride tomorrow. Some dire emergency required me to be home early every day, including today. My son's car wouldn't start today, so we had to go get the car we're selling from the corner across town. I'll ride in the morning to get the car back there. I miss riding to work. It's kind of hard to justify when my company pays for my car and my gas.

Yes I rode my "Bike"

Morning:

On the way home I stopped at the BICYCLE shop just to take this pic:

Count me!
Everyday this week...

:mad::mad::mad:
My chance to finally ride, at least part way to work. Bike in the trunk, taking my car to the sell-it-yourself lot, and the frickin' "check engine" light comes on! I have to work on this car tonight so I can sell it. Drive back home and bike, or drive on to work? Too late for option A, so I'm driving around with a bike sticking out of my trunk today. I was so close. I'm so sick of these daily crisis situations that keep me from having a life!

Yeah, I did (yesterday) and I got side-swiped by a chick entering a parking lot!!!

I sailed across her compact car's hood and after she slammed on her brakes I landed on my two feet!:D

The front rim's bent to hell, my right pedal broke right off upon impact and the frame got a little tweaked.:frown:

Luckily nothing in my body was broken, but just sore/swollen leg, sore arm and a little headache. (My head/helmet barely touched the hood).

I was going to snap some pics of it but did not have a chance before I dropped it off at the bike shop to get an estimate on how $$$ it was going to cost to fix/replace it, but didn't get around to doing it.

I had flashing lights in front and rear, but that still didn't help her see me in the dark. I thought I was being careful, but I guess I wasn't careful enough.

I was luckly that I did not get hurt worse though.:)

I can't wait to settle the insurance issue so I can get a new bike, commute some more, commute faster, and more in style!:hillbilly:

BE CAREFUL GUYS!!!

Holy s***! I am glad you are ok! Damn....

Geese, I hate to hear about that. Glad your OK. Pays to know how to take a fall eh'?
Yeah, you cant trust at all that people will see you, a bunch of morons out there, they out number us by the millions...

I did.

To be even more PC, I rode my bike across town to help a friend work on his Land Cruiser.

Claudia rode back and forth to work all week - we have not started a vehicle this week!

We are headed to town today for supplies - that is about an hour away...fill up the paintball tanks and then off to rodeo!

Thanks guys!

You know, what they say about "Your life flashing in slow motion before your eyes".... THAT'S NOT TRUE!!:D

Maybe it only happens when you're in much more severe accidents!

BTW, here is a pic of my Paramount when it was alive and well.

I'm also attaching a pic of a bike that the shop said that would be somewhat "comparable" to mine, with cro-moly(sp) frame, etc...

The thing is, I was just using my bike to commute, giving it narrower/smoother running tires for more speed, etc... but if I get another MTB I'd have to change the tires again (heaven forbid!:D) and I'm not too excited about taking it back to the U.S. with me.

I already have an old Bridgestone road bike stored (rotted:hillbilly:) away in the U.S., so I don't (shouldn't) need another one.

Maybe I'll just suck it up and get another MTB and do the tire-swapping thingy.:D

I am haveing trouble seeing that pic Mot, but does that bike say "Anchor" on it? If so, that is a bad name for a bike...no offense.
