I had a local fabricator make a set of these for me - the first style posted in the thread.

I told him that i intended to bolt to the floor in the back. This turned out to require just 3 pieces as only the outside leg needs a spacer.

So now i am contemplating drilling through the floor and wondering if maybe what i want is a self-sealing rivnut.

I noticed that the OP's photos had fallen off the thread, so here they are:

This is a workable design (my brackets are similar) but i think there would be more strength in a front end impact if the rear bracket connected all the way to the front bracket.

My concern with this is that the fronts seem to be ok but the rear is what worries me. In a forward head on crash, your body and seat want to move thru the windshield. What stops you is the steering wheel (airbag), seat belts and seat. The rear extension pieces, since there is only one part tied into the truck (the front), the rear will now act as a fulcrum, allowing the rear of the seat to lift up. In an accident that's a worry.

If you sit in the 2nd row seat push forward hard on the driver's seat, can you get it to move up? If so then its a problem.

I agree. looks like a catapult for a crash. This needs another bolt through floor at the end of rear brackets. No biggie. Just drill couple holes and bolt through body with large fender washer.
Front bracket looks sweet though.

Right. I bolted through the floor on the rear, but in retrospect i'd rather have a solid bar from front to rear.

fwiw i had to loosen the gas tank to put in the rear inside bolt.
