I don't get it. Anybody can put a strap on a motor and call it a White Trash repair. What is the strap DOING? It's obviously not tensioning the alternator, or it would be wrapped AROUND IT.
I once strapped a power steering pump to a shock tower for a guy to keep the tension on his belt. He ran the whole Rubicon trail like that and drove it back to LA.
