Anybody running White Knuckle Off Road rock sliders on their trucks? Happy with the product & the service? How hard do you wheel?

TOYOTA FJ CRUISER ROCK SLIDERS

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't pay the extra 100 bucks for the powder coating. If it's got a

"Powder coat finish may scratch or chip during shipping"

warning about being in a cardboard box, it's not going to last long in the real world.

I say paint it yourself.

After many requests, we began offering the powder coat finish for those who did not want to go through the process of doing it themselves. Painting them is the best option for those who plan to do heavy off-roading because it is so easy to cover any scratches or scuffs. Not all will be wheeling off-road and they usually want the powder coat finish. We use a reputable local powder coater for this and have had no damage to the finish due to shipping. The finish is durable but not indestructible. I have read customer horror stories on other forums about sliders from other vendors showing up at their door in an oversized box allowing the sliders to move freely, breaking the ends of the box, and eventually damaging the finish. We take great care packaging our sliders individually in bubble wrap and shrink wrap as well as tightly wrapping each set in double walled corrugated cardboard. "Powder coat finish may scratch or chip during shipping" is not meant to discourage anyone from purchasing that option only to make them aware of the possibility since destinations are as far as 3000 miles from our facility and many package handlers in between. We take great pride in our products and strive to keep our customers satisfied.

Thank you,

John

I understood you were just covering your a** but it looks bad the way it's worded. You are almost too honest, everyone knows things can happen during shipping.

I would advise changing that note to "see disclaimer" and add something to the disclaimer similar to your above post and tell the customer to notify the shipping company if there is any damage to the finish when received.

The scoreboard company I used to work for has the following on there website.

DAMAGES/CLAIMS
Be sure to inspect your merchandise. All shipments must be inspected at time of delivery for shortages and damages. Notations of any shortage or damage to the merchandise or packing must be made on the delivery receipt before signing. Concealed damage not visible at time of delivery must be reported to carrier within 5 days after delivery. All claims for damage or shortage must be filed within 30 days directly with carrier that made the delivery.

P.S. Your sliders look very good, appear solidly made and reasonably priced. They would be at the top of my list if I had the funds to buy some.

Those look pretty stout and not very expensive either. Good find.

I had a chance to really examine my stock FJC sliders side by side with the White Knuckles during installation and I can say a few things definitively: The are much stronger, better built, better looking and my favorite part...lighter! (mine aren't the HD's, but you can run the HD's without a weight penalty over the stock rails). Besides the expected underbody protection, I also like that they stick out slightly more than the stockers so I can step on them, and they protect the side of my vehicle better when I'm driving in narrow creekbeds and between taller rocks that might want to reach out and touch my body panels. I find myself taking on slightly more aggressive trails knowing that these "rails" will do their job before I do a job on my paint. They are as strong as anything out there, but in my opinion, they have a little more "style" to their design than the others. Definitely recommended. Happy wheelin'!

I need sliders bad... maybe i should wait for these:hhmm:

I think that John (jomaset) lives in Upland as well as you. If you ask nicely he will probably show you his. (sliders that is!):p

A little hard to tell from some of these pictures. Do these angle up fairly good from the side of the fj? I know the trail gears are straight out, and the all-pro, demello angle up. Curious what group these white knuckle fall into.

They angle up slightly.

Thanks Darby, what do you guys think??? Is that about the same angle as all-pro/demello or a little less. Its kinda hard to tell without seing them side by side.

I want the ones that angle up the most/ just hard to tell. I do like the3 design

I don't have the specs on the Demello sliders but the White Knuckle sliders run at 25 degrees for the FJ40 and 15 degrees for the FJC.

Very nice sliders... I've been looking into these. How much "stronger" are the Heavy Duty sliders compared to the Medium Duty sliders? I'm curious to see how much more one design will deflect compared to the other. Is there noticeably less deflection on the HD version when lifting up the side of the truck with a hi-lift?

How about a group buy on these?

Thanks John, Looks like these are the ticket.

I emailed you a few days ago for a shiiping quote, I appreciate the quick feedback.

I will get a set ordered up here as soon as I can.

Thanks for your help
