I got my WKOR sliders back from the power coater yesterday and installed them last night on my 4Runner. Minor cussing involved but that's pretty normal for me. The passenger side front mount was a pain because it took forever to get the top nut started on the u bolt. There's very little room for fingers in that location. Other than that, the passenger side was easy. The driver side had hard brake lines and a gas tank in the way so it takes longer to get the u bolts in place. There are brake lines that have to be popped out of their plastic holders at the middle and rear slider mounts on the driver side and then the u bolts can be worked into place. But once the u bolt are in place, just slide the slider into position and put it on the u bolts.

On every nut except for the passenger front top nut I used a 19mm deep socket for the top nut and my 19mm gear wrench for the bottoms. Just alternate tightening top and bottom nuts after you have the 2 sides in the same position. The rear of both my sliders are just a smidgen forward of the wheel well and this is dictated by the gas tank position. The driver side middle mount won't go back any further because of it.

After I had the sliders on I put some short pieces of plastic tubing around the brake lines by the rear mount as the lines are close to rubbing the u bolts there.

I am curious to see how my wife likes them. If you don't step on them exiting the truck, your leg will rub on the sliders getting out. I am anticipating some feedback on that from her...

Very nice!

Thanks everyone. They are definitely sturdy and should provide all the rocker protection I need. Hopefully it won't be too long before I need some!

those are really nice looking.

Do you think the u-bolts will hold up as well as having it bolted to the frame or welded?

Thanks. A few years ago I would have said no way but a lot of the 100 series Land Cruiser sliders are u bolted on without issue so they must be ok for our lighter trucks. If you are going to be really beating on them, doing lots of serious rock crawing, then I'd say weld on as the u bolts and brackets would likely take some hits. But if you only need occasional protection, these should work nicely.

Thanks, most of my off roading is the trails around Ouray and Silverton, so I might think about these

I think you should take me off roading out there so you can get a sense of how well they would work on your favorite trails :D

Love that area...would be great to have a group meeting near Telluride, Ouray, and Silverton.
Absolutely! I sooo want to wheel out there but it's hard figuring out when a long trip like that would work for me.

FJ Summit is the middle of July, I know some people from here are going to be there

Yeah that would be a great event to get to but I think I have a conflict with the July 23/24 weekend.
