Drew, I'm wondering if you'd want to travel to the lake together. What time were you thinking of leaving on Saturday?

OK, I'll leave a trail of yellow tape. Just follow Craig's directions and you'll be OK. I'll also mark our campsites with the usual CC sign on a stick; they even have red reflective tape now!

Hey Bill, why differant frequencies for Coastal Cruisers?

I meant to say two differant frequencies for Coastal Cruisers.

I put the second one in as a backup frequency, just in case you can't get through on the first one.
Also, its still legal to have a campfire so far. Check the BC Forest Service bulletin board for the Kamloops fire area later in the week at this website:

Weather forecast for Princeton:
Showers Friday - that should keep the dust down!
Cloudy Sat 22 degrees
Sunny Sunday 28 C.
Sunny Monday 30C.
Be prepared for both hot and for chilly weather. Even at this time of year we have sometimes needed a toque & gloves up in the Cascade meadows. Hoodies are great for wind & mosquitoes, I've even slept in those at times.
Also, bring any types of Walkie-Talkies, CBs, VHF, cells and megaphones for a communications grid. Bear bangers, air horns and pepper spray are a good idea also.
~Bill
P.S. Jan, I was in no way inferring that you are a bear banger!

Today I had a nice little scare, almost thought that I might not be able to head out this weekend. Went out to Langley and on the way back the rear end of the truck started to vibrate, and got worse and worse. Of course I start expecting the worst (diff), After pulling off the rear shaft and driving SLOWLY in 4 wheel I managed to get to Steve's, but not before some lady pulled up to me on lougheed and asked me if I know that my four-ways are on? Some people's children. Luckily only the u-joints on the shaft went and thanks to Steve I am renting a good one for the weekend until the u-joints come in. Unless he wants to trade - my nice drive shaft for the crappy one I got from him  wait that's the other way around.
P.S. I now have a new clutch and never want to take that damn tranny out again. If any body needs help with theirs I'm busy:D .
I think that from now on a set of u-joints will have to be in my off-road kit.

whipsaw

Hi all, CHRIS and I both work until 9:00PM on thursday, so we need sometime on Friday to pack. Hope to leave at around 10 ish, anyway before noon. We are going to LODESTONE on Fri night . Camping with small children takes a while to break camp so we are going to use LODESTONE as a base. See you all there. Barry. We now have a GPS. Who Knows where LODESTONE IS ?

Lodestone Lake FSR Turn off N49 30.300 W120 40.852

Lodestone Lake North side N49 27.954 W120 50.836 that's where the it looks like the camping spots are. Is this correct?

I have not been there so these are from my mapping software, should be close enoff.

What GPS unit do you have?

gps

the gps is a magellan sportrak color,a little outdated but on sale at cambodian tire.

any of you guys ever use maps?
I think we've already proved a few times that maps work
no batteries needed either

I am bailing out this round... stuff has come up....:frown: Will see you on the dusty trails for the Landcruiser Daze Campout...

Have a great time.
cheers,
petra
