I think you'd be totally fine! Don't mind, as long as you respect the group decisions!:)

Sounds good. Hunting from my vehicle, tossing out my empty beer cans as I drive, and public nudity while camping would be frowned upon then, I take it? :p

LOL... I grew up in Williams lake, that sounds about normal. I was speaking more to the pace of the group, where we decide to stop for the day, that sort of thing. We're intending on taking our time and exploring along the way. There is apparently a lot of great views and a lot of old mines, equip, camps and such along the way:beer:

Ah Williams Lake, the good old Cariboo. I lived in Lone Butte a few times also. The pacing sounds good to me, no worries. I will have to check out the B-Day wheeling thread also....

Update to the Whipsaw trip:

We will be leaving Saturday morning, August 20th.

For those in the lower mainland, we'll be meeting at the Tim Hortons at 7670 Vedder Road, Chilliwack, at approximately 10am to 10:30am. We will be LEAVING Tim Hortons at 11:00am exactly. Don't be late! The plan is to convoy up the [STRIKE]Malahat[/STRIKE] Coquihalla and going in the back way through Brookmere, which is apparently shorter and more scenic. Jason from CruisinOffRoad has done this way before so we should be fine.

For those coming from the interior (and any latecomers), we will meet you at Lodestone Lake. We'll be setting up camp on the far side of the lake. HERE are directions for reaching Lodestone Lake from both directions. (interior or lower mainland) We will be there before dusk Saturday evening.

We will be on CB radio and FRS/GMRS radio, both on channel 6.0. My cell is ****.

Andrew

Obviously i've been on the island waaaaay too long. We could take the malaht but the water crossing may be a bit much. Yes, let's take the coquihalla instead!

UPDATE: Ray isn't able to come over to the mainland until Saturday morning. Therefore, I've had to adjust our start date. Please see my post above.

We will be leaving Saturday morning, August 20th at 11:00am. All other details stay the same!

Geeez, is the the 20th yet? It can't come soon enough.

--Although my truck does need a bit of work before I attempt the Coq.

Im guessing its going to be a slowandsteady third gear pyro peggin kinda climb! Go little B go!

Yep, it'll be a slow climb up the snowshed. I drive by the pyro, and I'm going to be pulling the M101 too. Just what it takes to get our rigs to where they are truly happy :)

I drive by the pyro

Ditto... but that's ok! We'll all stick together as a convoy, going whatever speed Cam can safely maintain :flipoff2:

Cheap diesel

The Lickman Shell truck stop usually has the cheapest diesel around - cash price. Turn north at the Lickman Road interchange over Hwy 1 on the right side - use the small volume pump closest to the road. You must pay first. Lickman is just before the Tim Hortons turn-off you identfied.

I used to by my fuel there all the time, but found that my truck produced a lot more smoke out the tail pipe when burning that stuff. I only fuel up at Husky now, unless I can't find one. I'd sure be interested to know what is different about the fuel from these two places, and why it seems to make such a difference in smoke output.

Deep in Moly and wheel bearing grease gettin the 60 ready....

Should have the 5th studs in and the Chromo's as well.

Hopefully Ill get another leaf in the rear springs as well because my truck is a Hef-a-lump. :D

Hey Andrew,,, whats your truck weigh these days? Jayson, yours?

Just scaled mine the other day at the dump. 6,006 lbs with a full tank of fuel and me on board. No tools, gear or anything else in it. Still have yet to weigh the M101 with camping gear on board. I'm guessing 1,200lb

Andrew's is just about to gain a bit more weight...
