While I like the look of an unloaded truck without the rake, I actually prefer the rake in my setup. But that's because when I tow I have 5 people and gear plus 800# on the hitch (and another 5000# behind it). With weight distribution cranked up I'm actually level when towing. If I was level when unladen I would be squatting about 1.5" in the rear when towing. So consider your use case

I hear you. You are right. The solution would be to add air bags to keep it level when towing. I also tow with the truck (not the LC) but 90% of the time the most I'm carrying is a dirt bike in the bed.

Air bags are part of my setup as well. I run them at 30psi when towing

With my truck and trailer loaded and carrying gray and black water I’m over 4600# on the rear axle and 3500# on the front. I need to weigh unhitched as well but the trailer tongue is 770# without water, and I suspect the weight distribution setup is shifting 150#.

Anyway my point was just that if you have a trailer the rogue can be a lot of weight you only occasionally run. In that case you should expect to need some take, or else your rear end is going to sag. Air bags recover about an inch of height when inflated and loaded down, which helps but with 240#/in coils in my truck the tongue weight squats me about 2.5”

My truck does drop in the rear when towing our camper trailer
