I have a 1988 62, just blew the motor. Anyone know which blocs are interchangeable? Also anyone know a good source? I just want a good running motor to swap. This one is beyond rebuild...

If you just want to swap the block you can use the 3FE head on a 2F and 3F or 3FE. Im running a 3FE Head on a 2F block with the 2F timing gear currently

The 3FE block is 4.0L
2F block is 4.2L.

I think the 3FE camshaft is advanced by 5 degrees.. But other than the timing in the camshaft Gears the camshafts are entirely identical and interchangeable.

good idea but the OP would need a later 2F 1981+ with flat top pistons
