Mine's been in the lower third for the last twenty-some years. Rpms don't seem to matter much. It only goes up when I need to add a quart.

that is where I am. the thing is, i can't remember where i was when i bought the truck...

just a shade over half on the markings is wear a properly operating sending unit will put the needle on the gauge on a properly running fj62. I added a mechanical guage off a"T" to my oil sending unit and per FSM at idle you should be at 38 psi , and while driving it should be at or just below 60psi. so this corosponding marks on the factory (lame guage) 60 is just a shade over the 1/2 way and the 38 psi is right around a 1/4 my stock gauge. The needle moves back and forth accordingly matching the antics of my mechanical guage. I will show you tommorow Pete. However before my sending unit fried and I added the mech gauge, the OEM gauge stayed at the 1/2 mark and did not fall to the 1/4 like it does now. don't know if the responsive ness of the stock needle is due to the added flow of the "T" fueling the mechanical gauge because most 3fer's I know 's gauges tend to just stay in one position or the new ungummed up sending unit.

Bawhhaahh if only it were that easy..
you need somewhere to get an SAE to metric adapter because all the gauges you will find are standard while the landcruiser is metric. I had to order one from Summit racking. you mind as well order all your parts form them in that you will also need some stainless braided line in that the tubing that comes with most gauges is plastic and an accident waiting to happen. I'll show you :)

Stock guage doesn't work on mine, so I replaced it with a mechanical.

It varies for me. When the engine is hot, and it's over 90 degrees outside, I get about 20-25 psi at idle, and running it's around 45-50 psi - and that's on old oil that's getting due for a change.

Cooler weather and the idle psi is about 30 and the running psi is 55-60 on newer oil.

That's all running 15-40 Delo. PSI is going to depend on what weight/age of the oil, I'd think.

I'm not sure if the answer .. but you put any external mechanic gauge .. ?

In the manual the 2F engine is by rated to have 64PSI @ 2000 rpm or 54 PSI @ 1000 rpm always in normal ( operative ) temp.

Mine always runs at the same position - between 2/3 and 3/4 with no variation.
