Not sure why you would move back here.....

Don't know that I could put that into words. I was born a Mississippian and always felt like I belonged there. Hard to shake your roots. Even without real beer or Tex-Mex food, I'm still coming back. Never have been able to explain it to anyone, but there it is. :hhmm:

Navy people are weird.

I guess we are, but we're there when you need us...

Local is on Main street just south of Union. They have good wings too. Used to have great beer until Dogfishead stopped importing into TN.

Flying Fish is great but more a lunch spot to me than a dinner destination. Look for Andrew Mosley's billy bass on the wall.

But, if you've never been to Gus's, you can't leave Memphis without going there. Expect to wait for a table. Expect for your food to take longer than you'd expect for a chicken joint. And let it cool off before you bite down. But hoddam it's good. You can get the BBQ fedex'd to you but not Gus's. The one on S. Main isn't the original but it's where the cool people go. But if you're up for a little driving, head out to Mason, TN to the original location (but not the actual original - it's burned down and been rebuilt a few times). Don't go to the Gus's in Bartlett - it just isn't the same.

They're opening a new Gus' on Mendenhall (south of Poplar), just south of the Half Shell. Its under construction now, not sure when it will open.

Yep, all that and more...

(I apologize if this violates Cottonland obscenity regs. Feel free to delete if it's out of line)

Go Navy

that's hilarious.........esp in what appears to be dress whites

Nu South Deli in the HOOD in Canton. Total dump. Insanely good burgers. May be the best I have ever had.

Went in there were 4-5 pants around ankles thugs out front. We went in expecting the worse. The ladies were super nice. They started us some burgers fresh. Took about 20 minutes to cook 3/4# of raw meat. Came out perfect. Absolutely perfect. No where to eat so we ate on my buddies toolbox in his 3/4 ton Ford in the parking lot. Lot's of shady characters riding by. I ended up taking my gun OUT of my pocket.

Worth it. Pics forthcoming.

What gun? :grinpimp:

That's cute.

I was thinking... precious. I carry a .380 most of the time and still feel under gunned. Favorite is my Ultra Carry in God's caliber (.45 ACP).
