Where to buy a lightweight car trailer....or ten?

My uncle is a sports car enthusiast and has a Rotus 7(Lotus 7 kit car). He's looking for a light weight/light duty car trailer (car is less than 1700 lbs) to haul it on.

He has gathered approximately 10 enthusiasts w/ very similar requirements and they're looking to do a "group buy" on trailers.

Does anyone have a good source to check out preferably in th mid-atlantic region?

They are shooting for less than $2000 per trailer and were hoping for aluminum for weight reasons, but are willing to accept steel to make the budget (these guys are towing with mini-vans and sedans).

Any leads? I wouldn't mind helping my uncle design/make one, but I'm not up for fabricating 10.

Check with Franklin trailers in West Berlin Nj. They have a website. They builb trailer there on site. You could also try Cargo trailer parts, in Lansdale Pa. They handle a lot of aluminium trailers.

I paid nearly $5000 for my aluminum car hauler. It is 16' all aluminum with a steel reinforced frame. It weighs 950# dry.

That said, most El Cheapo car haulers can be had with light duty steel frames for around $2000 and they weigh around 1500# dry.

That is the way to go...my aluminum trailer was too expensive for what I got.
