Where is a good place to mount the mic for the HAM or GRMS?

i have mine here:

I used to have it here on the side by the ash tray but didn’t like it.

I also tried gluing a magnet behind the plastic here:

And put another magnet on the back of the mic. This worked OK but it’s a little bit of a reach to grab the Mic. I didn’t hate it but when I rebuilt cruiser 2, I didn’t replicate it. I like it where I have it now, though I have thought about attaching it somehow to the ceiling on a retractable lanyard of some type would love to see pics of anyone who’s done that

Mine is in that last pic (passengers side). I have a little clip it drops into that sticks to the plastic which works great. I would’ve preferred it drivers side but I thought the mic cable would get in the way of the hand brake and I’d be annoyed.

Mine is on a magnetic mic holder screwed to the passenger side panel. Keeps it easy to reach and out of the way. Radio is in the back and cable is Cat 6 i believe (MXT575). easy to remove the mic and throw in the glove box if needed.

I use a magnet in the same spot as @kcjaz first photo. That’s held pretty well even in mild off-road (some bumpy river bed and sand dunes) usually it starts out here, then just gets set in the cupholder.

Being hella lazy, my favorite spot is clipped to the seatbelt/shoulder belt.

Mounted mine to a proclip on the drivers side. Location is perfect and no dash drilling required.
