Where does this ground wire go?

My new/used 92 truck has a broken ground wire coming out of the harness that goes to the alternator. Anyone know where it goes? It's a 22RE. The truck runs fine (minus the high cold idle... which is another topic).

Thanks

I put it between the block and the PS bracket, on the lower right most bolt that holds PS bracket on.

if you're sure it's a ground wire you could put it under any nearby bolt that is convenient . . .

Hilux is accurate.

The ground for the alt goes on one of the PS bracket bolts (top/closest to you if I recall) but I could be forgetting about the exact bolt. As well, it COULD go anywhere on the block/chassis but the wire length determines that.

Anyway, are you saying it is currently not connected?

Thanks for the responses. I'll check out that location. The wire is actually disconnected right now with the end ripped off. I was hoping if I found out where it originally connected to, that the connector would still be left and I could re-attach the wire.

If it's the solid black wire, then ya it just needs to ground to the engine somewhere. Mine is attached to one of the bottom alternator bracket bolts. Big ring terminal on the end of the wire.

on the 14mm long bolt that the alternator pivots on it goes on there youll probably have a ring connector under the nut with a torn off crimp connection
