So I’m putting a new motor, to me, at least, into my 96 Lexus. This wire looks like it comes off of the coil, however, I don’t know where this end goes

. It looks like it’s long enough to go to the battery, but is there a wire directly from the coil to the battery? If so, I guess it goes on the negative?

Never mind I looked at my 93

I dont recognize that wire. There are two grounds on that side of the engine, one from the main harness that attaches to the back of the intake and the second is the ground cable that branches from the starter that you bolt to the block. Hard to say without knowing the other end.

The closest thing like that attaches to the fuselink but they are usually bound all together and go into the front harness.

EDIT: Where does it go?

Another question, are there washers on the fuel line banjo fitting? I know there are for the power steering pump. I replace that one already.

I've always seen copper washers on banjo fittings, but I may be mistaken.

I was wondering if it might've been for a brake controller, but I'm not sure. Might be the case if you have a trailer hitch and 7 pin wiring.

Edit: I totally meant to send this to another thread. Definitely not for a brake controller!

That's not a factory wire. Whatever it is, it's aftermarket.
Disagree. Not with my 80 but that’s a ground wire. For the coiI I believe. You can see the factory connector and the other end going to the manifold in background. I have the same

That's a different wire on the manifold.

There are two washers on the inlet and outlet for a total of 4

Good catch. I see that’s now.
Still believe that to be a factory ring terminal for a ground.

Yes its factory. Goes to the bolt on the engine 'lift' drivers side.

And yes ALL banjo bolts have crush washers.
