Where did the 80scool forum go? e.g. http://www.safari4x4.com.au/80scool/tech/brake.html

Hi chaps. I often see on older posts references to the old 80scool forums. It looks as if they were at one stage hosted by safari4x4, but that no longer seems to be the case. I sent a quick query to safari4x4 but am yet to hear back. If they respond with anything useful I'll pass that on here. Anyways, perhaps others know where this valuable source of info has gone to.

Regards,

Stuart

Lcool, 80scool etc etc website and forum is now dead, and lost to the internets forever.
Yeah well, I wrote to Safari4x4 and they didn't seem to know anything about it. Mind you, that was probably a young guy - maybe some of the older guys may have more info. I mean, surely someone, somewhere would have a backup of the invaluable source of info tucked away somewhere? Shame.

80sCool was started by George Couyant. He didn't work at Safari4x4, just used their server for the forum after he moved it from the original server. After that, the URL and server changed to lcool.org.
The legendary Norm Needham, Mick Barson along with some other old and crusty Ozzys were all there. I know Norm is on FB, but I haven't heard from George in years.

Thanks Malleus, I never knew about this archive website. I had look through it but sadly, most backup/archive attempts failed. I found this successul one from 2001:

I'll see if I can find something more recent.
