Where are my 1990 FJ62 owners at?

There is some tribal knowledge around here that "all" 1990 FJ62s (in the US at least) were made in 1989 and held over to bridge the gap to the 1991 FJ80. I could not actually find anything to confirm this, just reading it here.

The door sticker on mine has a 12/89 manufacture month, so I emailed Toyota and asked for a more specific date if they had one, and they came back with 12/31/1989. Now, who knows if that's accurate or not. Could just be they use whatever the last day in the month is as the default date, I wouldn't be surprised for such an old system.

The question is, does anyone have a door sticker that says 1/90 or later? Or are all FJ62s going to be at least 30 years old as of this week? And who wants to go the extra mile and see what date their Cruiser was manufactured by emailing Toyota?

Ours was manufactured in November 1989, purchased here by us in early January 1990.

I've always wondered what the final FJ62 serial numbers were. IIRC there was a time...maybe a thread here (?) where my serial number was later (higher) than any others I could find.

I think all 1990s were built in 1989, I have a 12/17/89 build date. The door sticker is another clue on being a 90 model. My sons 89 still has a metal ID plate in the door jam.

What Toyota wouldn't tell me when I asked is when production actually ended, to put an end to this 89/90 story. But they just sent me some generic Land Cruiser history page. How many #6s do you need to just find out the last production number?

Mine was the latest in that thread at 121208, looks like you have “the record”. @fl4031003 posted back then too. Funny reading old threads sometimes.

I actually asked this question to Dan when I was at the museum last month. Being a regular old citizen without access to Toyota databases, he couldn't tell me any specific dates except that worldwide production probably went into February '90 (I think) which is why I said US 62s above.

Found the date, looks like any service manager should be able to pull the production date by going into the service history system at Toyota

Our trucks could have been sitting in the same lot together in Japan, 75 apart.
