When did the Lexus LX470 switch to plastic headlights?

As for why it matters, I've seen the glass lights on a 1999 and 2000 model, and wow, even if the rest of the truck is in rough shape, the lights look brand new and gorgeous.
This was one of the few reasons why I opted for glass lens when I took on to do a quad protector headlight retro project on my 06.

Mine came with polycarbonate, then retrofitted with xenon projectors, sold that set to a fellow mudder then did this. This also has PPF for added lens protection.

I have pondered for awhile, would it not be beneficial to run PPF over a pair of glass lenses for increased pitting/chip resistance?

My Toyota dealer sold me 40 mil (40 mil! - not a typo) plastic headlight film that I put on my '95 FZJ-80s glass headlights and thus they did not chip. You cut it with a scissors to fit the face of the headlights.

I would take glass anytime over plastic. I can't tell you how many plastic headlights I have polished in Colorado (with varying levels of success). My '99 LX 470 has lovely, slightly-pitted original glass headlights with 314K miles on them. I hope they last forever.
