Hey folks,

I am in from Vermont and here for two days on work. I am staying (bored) in Santa Monica near the pier and looking for some wheeling. If you are passing through and interested in picking up a fellow cruiser nut....please let me know. I'll chip in for gas and beer.

My wife encouraged me to check out the boardwalk and local shops......I got in and immediately logged back onto MUD.....

Although wheeling is not an option this week, both b/c it's mid week and my 80 needs work before anything offroad, if you'd like to grab lunch on Tuesday around 1pm or later...let me know. I'm real close to the pier and can give you a little tour of the LA area if you'd like.

Thanks folks. Looks like I am tied up again through Tues am, until my flight. Had a nice lunch at the Pier at a restaurant called the Lobster.....nice views.

As an aside, I am surprised by the lack of rust on vehicles this close to the ocean. I have seen some rather old Toyotas around, like Corollas, that seem to be in great shape. I figured the salty air would cause some real havoc on vehicles. Perhaps it is the tons of sun you enjoy here, that keeps the vehicles relatively dry. We get the sun, but it stays pretty moist in VT and of course there are the road salts (of a variety of kinds). Anyway...

I appreciate the replies and will try to give some advance next time I am in town.

Best....
