Due to many causes, I haven't wheeled in almost a year. :crybaby: (Last day Tellico was open was the last time I used 4wd in my 40).

Planning on hitting Morris Mtn for the day on Sunday. Right now it's just me and a built YJ, who may get his panties in a wad due to the chance of rain and not come.:princess:

Let me know if you're thinking of coming, would rather not wheel alone if this YJ skips out.

Pilldude-
Plannin on hittin 75 south from West Paces at about 8:30.

Takes about 1-1:15 to get there.

Plans are somewhat tentative due to the weather. Raining and 40 degrees wouldn't be much fun with no top.

Anyone else? MM is a fun place if you haven't been.

Bailey, the J**P part is supposed to be the hook, not the bait! ;)

As long as the weather cooperates, I'll be pulling tow truck driver duty for Bailey for the day and along for the ride. At least for now, it looks like the forecast for Delta, AL shows the rain tapering off by late morning.

rain 80% likely on sun prior to noon is what Noaa.gov says. Thoughts

MM is a fun place, we all went out there last February in the rain. Remember what happens to that place when it gets wet, soggy bottom actually turns into soggy bottomless.

40* and rain, short notice, think I gotta pass on this one. little more time and maybe next time.

If that's the same Jeep we saw last year on on guardrail after Christmas about the only "Jeep" left in that thing is the hood ornament.

Have fun and take pics!

Yeah, the rain is giving me second thoughts.

Cam (atl zj) is the jeep dude from guardrail last year. The last piece of the jeep just left. Cam's in the middle of swappin out the stock 4.0 for a GM 6.0.

I remember that MM weekend. It gets sloppy real quick over there.

Not a good idea!!! I still have plenty of Morris Mt. Mud stuck in lots of nooks and crannys of my 40. If you really want a challenge go to Beasley after some rain!!!

Didn't look like we were going to go, but late Saturday night, Cam convinced me and the other dude with a YJ to go.

After a slow morning, we got in some very sloppy wheeling. Best thing about bad weather is that we had the park to ourselves aside from one other jeep.

Proof of the slipperiness, usually this is an easy no slip crawl-

Very cool--Slick is an understatement, looks like you got a little tippy there at the end. did you guys attempt soggy bottom at all?

Yeah, thought for sure I was going to roll on that last one.

My pintle hitch hit that rock sideways so hard it bent the rear crossmember (more).

Didn't even think about soggy bottom or the other side of the park, talked with Randy Morris on the way out and he said he never goes over there after a rain, just way to damn messy.

I'll vouch for that. he told us the same thing but we said screw it and tried it anyway. Made it through the first time but got stuck trying to get to Pillguy on the way back...shouldn't have tried to begin with.

The Titan is Cam's (ATL ZJ) and the trailer is one I can borrow occasionally.

Still have the 80, for better or worse. I like everything about it except it is underpowered for towing, and gets poor mileage all the time. (Lose-lose).

Towing on the trailer is SO MUCH better. I am pretty tired of slow, white-knuckle flat towing. Not to mention, if I break a rear axle shaft or a front knuckle housing etc, I am SOL.

I don't know if it was the trailer that changed your attitude or just a year's worth of pent up driving urges that needed to get out, but it was great to see you flog on the 40 a little on Sunday. As I said earlier, being sprung under, it handles amazingly well on slick rocks with no hop at all. For having ~90hp, it really climbs nicely once the tires are sticky :D

Powerful engines are for pussys. :flipoff2:

Your superior 80 would have made it the first time :flipoff2:.

Go Jackets!
