I'm interested to see what other folks are doing (or I could be the only freek on here that would buy a gift for his rig:p)?

I've done suspension lately (that was for MY B-day), so I was thinking of a smaller gift...

Mobil 1
Spray n wash trip
&
Full tank of 94 octane

I'm already thinking of the girl's birthday in January, and may get her an ARB front bumper...if she's good to me:smokin:

No clue what oil the factory sends these rigs out with but I swear I'm getting 1.5-2 mpg better mileage off the computer since my first oil change and putting in the M1 0-20.

She is getting a large install on Monday:

OME 2" all around
Icon Rear Lower Control Arms
ARB Rear Lockers
ARB CKMA12 Compressor

She should be a happy camper for Christmas!

wowza! You're right about the whole warranty thing.

Not sure what to get? Here is one affortable idea / gift.

A K & N or TRD performance oiled air filter with a good quality medium grade gas. You will get a stronger kick in your low and high speed acceleration. In a two month period, I swapped out the stock and K & N and using different grade of gas between Costco and Chevron. To me, K & N and medium grade gas from Chevron, is the way to go. Enjoy your ride and Happy Holidays.

Personally I would avoid the K&N if you are going to be doing any offroad in sand or dry dirt conditions. Those 'high performance' filters will get clogged VERY quickly and you will go BELOW normal stats after some time. Not meaning after an hour or so, I mean more after a full day.

That comes from the man himself 'Bill Burke'!

BUT If you are doing regular street driving I would use one.

Wouldn't regularily cleaning the thing help...like if you had a wild wheelin day in the desert, just clean it after that? I've got one, and haven't had any issues. Mind you, there is no real desert close by.

That is probably true....but cleaning a dirt filled filter in the desert and trying to let it dry without getting it more dirty would seem, not worth any performance gain one may get.

Actually running a K&N dirty would provide better filtration (at the expense of better breathing). K&N will allow your engine to breath better on the intake side...but at the expense of inducing more abrasive particles into your engine. And from everything I've read the HP/MPG gains are mostly BS for stock engines with cats.

You have to believe if their HP and MPG gain were truly that great manufacturers would be installing similar as OEM...

Obviously its your money and your rig...but I'd avoid it if maximizing engine longevity is your focus.

Heck lets just run WITHOUT a filter!! That should be fun.....

I would NOT run a K&N filter on a rig that drives in fine sand. After my trip to Glamis, I had an inch of sand in the bottom of the filter box. The tire will kick find sand right at the filter. The sand particles were sooooo small that even after I thought I had cleaned the entire filter (after an hour with a 150psi compressor and blow nozzle), I was still noticing sand. The particles were so small that it would sting your fingers when the compressor shot granuals.

Not worth the risk to the engine, IMHO. And the gains are minimal. I got a 50hp gain just from airing up to 35psi andd using synthetic oil! NOT!

Well I received a Powertank 15LB Package to Christmas from the wife and also a Pair of Maxtrax from myself!

If you don't know what Maxtrax are, you have to see them:

YouTube - MAXTRAX in action

and the corporate site is here:

https://www.maxtrax.com.au/

I ordered from their site on a Monday and got them delivered to me from Australia by Thursday. Cost less from them then from their US distributor!

Awesome product. We used them at the Dirty Toy School.

Anyway....anyone else get anything for their cruiser?

Those maxtrax are pretty cool! But what's the purpose of the powertank? Do you just use a compressor to fill it to xxx PSI and then store it somewhere? Do you mount it under the cruiser? Do you use your ARB compressor to fill it and then fill your tires?

I am going to use the powertank for filling the tires up after wheeling. The CO2 tank can refill a tire from 20 psi to 40 psi in about 35-45 seconds, VS a compressor which would take about 5-6 min.

The 15 lb tank can do upwards of 70-80 tires from 15 psi to 30 psi. Plus you can run power tools off of it. :)

So very nice extra to have.
You have to get them filled at someplace like a fire extinguisher place, paintball place, welding shop. Costs about $15 bucks on average.

Non flammable, no dangerous. Perfect.

Those MaxTrax look sick! I think my trucks getting another GPS antenna to go with the laptop I just got.

Santa was a little late for me, but glad that he came. First post here, been lurking for a bit.... Just got rid of a "less than suitable quality" Land Rover and purchased my first LC, best driving vehicle that I have had including many luxury brands... what have I been thinking?

Anyway, to stay on post, the LC is getting a new ARB bumper with Warn 9.5X (master pull 5/16 synthetic line), 2" OME lift on the front and 0.75" on the rear, TRD 17" wheels with 295 70 R17 Terra Grappler, 10# Power tank, Slee sliders and a roof rack. Pics to follow in a week or two.

Cheers to everyone and happy New Year.

Welcome...sounds like Christmas gifts for the next 5 years!
You will be super happy with the OME lift...it has served me well. Please post up your rig in the picture section.

Good to see some other people out there willing to mod their 200...I think DTT255 was getting lonely.

P.S. Good job on getting rid of the Land Rover. I have an LR3 along with the LC200, and there is something always wrong with it.
