Im gearing up to remove the 2F from Betty. I just picked up a brand new Pittsburgh engine hoist for 60 bucks! I just have a question about whats worth keeping from the original Toyota drive train that is either worth selling or aid in the V8 Swap? I'm really trying to avoid throwing away something that could potentially help fund my build by selling parts from the LC that I wont need.

Im Planning a 350 TBI, NV4500, Toyota Splitcase Powertrain combo.

A running and complete 2F will usually get some $$. If it's low miles, maybe $500, higher miles, maybe $250. If you desmogged it, less. Non-running it's basically a boat anchor.

Good 4 speed might get you $100 or so

If you are parting it out, the carb, cylinder head and possibly manifolds are worth something.

Good luck

How can a used 2F with all accessories be worth $250 if a used distributor (if you can even find one) costs $150? Used EGR valve $100. Used carb $150-250. Used igniter $100. Used good smog rail $100 etc etc.

You always make more if you part it out. But running 2Fs sit for ages at $500. I bought one that was a low mile take out, that was advertised here and on Expedition Portal for months, before I bought it for $350.

You might get lucky if someone has an acute need, but it's rare that the acute need and the acute supply are close to each other. And shipping a 2F sucks.

yeah, I've done 3 long blocks mostly complete at 500 each over the years. the last one came with a rebuilt a440 and splitcase for an fj80...selling the ignition package as a deal with the ignitor, coil, dizz and side cover could get up to 200 bucks, as @Cruiserdrew pointed out, the carb in decent shape could be up to $150-(up to) the manifolds for about 100 and the head as a rebuildable core for 100 or maybe more, depending on where it is , where it is wanted and how much that costs to ship...if all of the smog stuff is intact and functional, it is worth something. the 4 speed can get you up to 100-$150 if it's really nice. is it a long or short 4 speed?
