What's this?

Does anyone know what this part is? I don't want to throw it away until I know what it is (assuming it isn't anything important). I think it is early 40 stuff

I was thinking it was the bracket for the bifold door hooks.............but I don't think so.

Here is a picture for scale. It is body color and has the yellow primer showing through in a few places. I looked on my '64, with the bifold doors, and couldn't find anything. I haven't been able to look under the truck yet but I will as soon as the snow melts.

It is really close but the holes don't quite line up.
