WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 93' 94' FZJ80'S

just on the blower issue, according to sleeoffroad, the 95-97s are better for a blower due to I think better ECU control. The OBDII, esp on the 96-97, also helps closely monitor engine operation which is desirable when you have a blower

Also, what year did the 80 drop to 7 pax from 8 pax?

I read on Edmunds that '94 had 9 speakers. My rig has 7 AFAIK.

2 in the dash
2 in the front doors
2 in the rear doors
2 in the rear roofline
and 1 Wulfer ( :D ) in the RH quarter.

Dan,

Sorry for hijacking the thread...but anywhoo...here goes...

How doable is adding the two speakers in the rear roofline ? What would I need to do this ? Does LC's FSM have this information (ofcourse my LX's one does not!) ?

Thanks in advance!
Frank.

Frank,

The LX450 audio system is different, as you already know. You have a woofer in the center console that an 80 does not have. IIRC there is no wiring in the rear roof or RH quarter in an LX for the 80 type rear speaker layout. You would need to run wires for them.

Dan,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Guess I should be clearer on this...
What I really want to know is if the brackets & speaker grills are readily available (so I could use them as a template to cut the headliner). I'm planning to run the wires from the floor up on the D pillar.

Frank.

Other things you might consider if you want a truck that lives long on a 93 -94 with super charger. Do a head gasket and clean all carbon out, Replace the injectors, do a full tune up, install a new fuel pump (supra twin turbo model), install a rising rate fuel pressure regulator (something above 6 to 1), ask dan for spark plug model, install TRD thermostat. quite a list. good luck, we buy cheap blowen up trucks when you blow it. later Robbie

I did also forget the cooling system, make sure it is the best it can be. robbie

Robbie,
Let me introduce you to the smilie. You can use it from the "Reply" box. If you're doing Quick-Reply then you can use a shortcut (semi-colon "D" as in ; D with no space between)

:D

Rare throughout production.

Mine is a 94 with cloth. Took a while to find though.

Wow Thanks ,

What do you all know about :

1.Installing a Ram-Jet 350 in a 93' FZJ-80 ?

2.Installing a Quad cam Lexy- V-8 like they do in OZ ?

3.Installing a 2jzgte (twin turbo 1-6 toyota motor) ?

4.Installing in a pinch a 7MGTE strait 6 Toyota motor ?

Wondering all this in case of a engine failure and no decent priced long blocks.

Thanks so far for the Education

2.

The Supra motors would be a step backwards since they are 3 liters as opposed to 4.5 liters. If you were to consider an engine swap I would think that the biggest motor you could fit in the bay would be the way to go.

I'm not sure that I understand your question. I can tell you this:

A good friend had a very nice TBI 350 powered FJ60 with an NVG 4500 trans, 4.10 gears and a bunch of other nice stuff. We went to Lake Powell 2 years ago, he drove the 60 and I drove my supercharged 80. I was towing a 3,700 lb boat and a full load of camping gear for a week. He was not towing. he found that he had to "hurry" to keep up with me on the hills. ;) My combined GVW was close to 11,000 lbs. Since then he has sold his 60 and aquired an 80. :D
