... A section of the Squamish Valley FSR!

A friend and I from work headed up the Squamish Valley FSR yesterday. I've been wanting to check out a branch road that leads up to a clear cut. This clear cut would then be a great starting point to reach Mt. Cayley.

As we reached the starting point of the FSR, there was a barricade in place stating the road is closed because of a washout but didn't mention how far in, or how bad it was. We continued anyway. Just passed the 16km mark we reached the end..

We then parked our trucks. Did a little bushwacking and continued on the other side, on foot. About 5km further down the FSR, we found the branch road and could see the clear cut above. Looks like it's still accessible; so that makes me excited for this summer! I'm sure they will have a bypass around this washout finished long before then.

Damn, this season is taking a fair amount of casualties. I saw on crackbook that most of the pools a Sloquet are washed out as well. Not sure if the structure they made survived. Likely many other places will have issue as well.
Wonder how our more regularly used trails that are by creeks and rivers are doing. Might have a lot of digging next year to get to some of our favorite destinations.

Your 42 looks great! Is that Vern's old rig? I noticed you went with GY Wrangler Territory tires; how do you like 'em? I went with the same on my LJ78, and really like them. Super tough tires, and good in a variety of off road conditions.

Yep, it's Vern's old rig. I'm keeping the old beast running for him

I was looking for tires for quite awhile. I was hoping to find a set (used) of either BFG Mud Terrains or All Terrains. I had the BFG AT's on my '85 4Runner and loved them. I eventually found this set on Craigslist for a good price; still had the little nubs on them, so decided to try them. So far they have been great. I have used them on a few offroad trips this past summer and fall, nothing serious, and they preformed great.
