Long bed with tail gate and tail lights. Appears to be late model, has the smaller tail lights and 4 hinges on the tail gate. Has been rhino lined top and bottom, a few dents, a couple of spots of rust on the side panel. The spray in liner has me concerned, due to the fact I do not know what it is hiding. Looking for guidance.

Tony,

These things dont grow on trees,so you have to decide between rarity and cost.Over the years I have paid probably more than most for certain 45 parts that are clearly over priced, but to me its the rarity of separate 45 parts coming up for sale that you pay for. That bed looks pretty good from the pics. The main areas on beds are the center area where the bed floor attaches to the bed sides. The welds start to rust and cause a rippling down the side. The rhino line is a concern but will probably seal out any future rust! Biggest negative of the liner is you cannot disassemble the bed for restoration. I pretty much went the hard way like you in collecting all the different parts separatetly.I think a bed and tail gate with hinges is an easy 1200 to 1500...

Brian,

Thanks for the insight. The lining was my concern, I have gotten some feed back on how to deal with it and I am feeling better about it. There is a section of rust coming through the side, so I am sure there is more else where, hidden by the lining. I am not going for a full resto job, I just want a nice, clean, capable and fun to drive 45.

I know you were trying to talk Craig into not selling the remove-able top. Even though I paid good money for it, the rarity and condition of the top were worth it. So you are right, the bed is no different.

Thanks for the guidance Whitey!!

dr_claw,

Thanks, I bit the bullet and bought it. I will be picking it up around the 11th. As far as the headache rack goes, I have a line on one of those as well :grinpimp: This thing is becoming a complete vehicle way faster than I anticipated. I guess once all the hard parts are acquired, I can focus on my already started projects!!

It looks in pretty damn good shape. It has a straight tailgate with all the hardware, the lens and lens buckets. I would pay $1,250 to $1,500 depending on how it looked from the under side.
