What would it take to convert an automatic P/U to a 5 speed?

Besides the obvious like a tranny, flywheel, clutch kit and hydraulics? Would the whole pedal assembly have to be changed? A buddy in Washington wants to do this and I'm going to drive up in the spring and see if I can bring what he needs for it.
Thanks Jim

need a ECU out of a manual, for one thing...

No you don't. The only wiring issue is jumpering the neutral start switch, and getting the 4WD & reverse lights hooked up.

My friend Mike Fox (FoxFab.com) has done several swaps like this, he just did his own 4Runner the other day. He's never swapped the ECU.

Yep, just stuck an R151F in my 22RE 4Runner that had an auto. I have a spare set of pedals too if you need a set :) Other than making the mods to the firewall to get the pedals and clutch master in, its pretty straight forward.

No ECU change needed. But you do need to jump the neutral switch as KLF says to get the starter to work. Easy mod by cutting the two wires under the intake and crimping them together.

Your driveshaft may be a different length with the 5 speed as well as the crossmember shape. Get a Budbuilt for a 5 speed.
