Mobil 1 5W-30.
Buy it by the case and my Avalon and Corolla like it, so the Cruiser gets it as well.
Never had an engine problem and they all have over 150K, all had clean top ends when I did valve cover gaskets, 1MZ-FE is known sludge motor.

Don't get too caught up in brand in these trucks.
Is oil a cleaner as well as lubricant? if it is, then not sure I would want a yrs worth of metal, dirt, and carbon recirculating continually regardless of what filter is used (I buy a case of OEM at a time for convenience and $40 shipped). I run 7,500 miles and I try to keep my cars on the road ie not offroad.

I run 5w-30 Mobil 1 full synthetic. My 200 thousand mile motor eats about a quart in 5 thousand miles. The PO (original owner) said he ran Mobil 1 as well but who knows. The top end was very clean when I did the valve cover gasket at 180. There is a light seep from the pan arch or rear main (can't tell) but not enough to drip in the driveway yet. I know it's more expensive but I run the same oil in the 4 runner and it's just easier to stock all the same oil since the owners manuals say 5w 30 for both vehicles. Luckily the 4 runner doesn't eat a drop!

Was running Mobil1 5W-30 for a few years. I would change the oil once a year, since I only put a couple thousand miles on my truck in that amount of time. I recently switched to Rotella T 15w40 and plan to change it every 6 months (same cost, double the OCI). My truck seems to like the Rotella so far.

Just ordered 6 gallons of Schaeffers full synthetic 5W-40, tests seem to indicate more moly and zinc addatives compared to other synthetics. Any of the brands mentioned above are good oils.
