What type of FJ is this?

Don't know if this is the right spot but I would like to get some input on this rig that I spotted in the back alley way some time ago. I was told that the owner said it was for sale. I would like to go and check it out. Looks like its got some dents and rust. There seems to be a big hole on the roof.


I don't know what to look for(55s and back are not my specialty at the moment. Plan to fix that soon). What would be a good price?

Plan to find out the year, and condition among other things... The side fender is labeled "diesel fuel only" (some one painted that on). If I could get it running without braking the bank, then, that would be something I would buy. Or at least if they are not asking for much.... What would people pay for a rig like this?

Early 1963 - 1964 ish FJ 40

Although the roof is pushed in, the hole is from the original roof vent. Nice rocking horse hood emblem.

I'm guessing it is a 64. The hard top shows a gap in the B pillar at the tub. The 63 and earlier had the high B pillar and there won't be a gap. Short running boards ended in 64. Couldn't tell from the picture almost looked like it had a large gas cap making it a 61. Need a lot more information for a value.
