What should I do with this gas cylinder?

Gave up trying to weld aluminum so now I have an HP60 Argon cylinder taking up space. I have had this thing for several years. Airgas won't take it back for credit, only if I were to trade up. It seems too big to convert to an on board air system (24"x7"). Any other thoughts before it goes to Craigslist?

Kegerator??
I like the way you think! Unfortunately, I don't drink enough beer.

I have a co-worker looking for one--what would you want for it?

I asked the Airgas guy and he said list price is $175. There is still some Argon in there. Hmm...Do you guys think $100-$125 is reasonable? I really don't know what the used market is for these, I would think they would hold there value as you can swap them back to Airgas, no worries on testing etc.

I'll tell him $125 & see if he falls out of his chair ;)--sounds reasonable to me....but then it's not my money.....

Leon, would this tank not work for your MIG welder so you could run shielding gas with your mild steel wire? Running shielding gas and using solid core wire is far superior to the flux core wire most people run in home shops. You could probably talk Airgas into trading you out for a bottle of 75/25 mix, which works very well with the mild steel wire.

I already have the 75/25 in another cylinder, this one was extra. But I have been thinking about trying stailess steel, maybe I need to look into the gas equirements for that:hhmm:
